This talk has the aim to reflect upon the diverse events that happen at the time of teaching English in a public school in Colombia. From a decolonial and critical view, the presenter tries to analyze the different teaching English practices in these hard times. Some situations related to social transformation, inequalities, diversity, and power issues will be studied in this presentation. At the end of the session, the audience will understand the complex dynamics of carrying out English classes in a public school also the possible variables that exist in our local contexts (pedagogical, curricular, and evaluation) will be analyzed. Finally, conclusions will show a meaningful/own process of the teaching English from and for our Public School students in South America.
